Moto1 Motorcycles Honda Concludes 2026 ProMX Championship at Queensland Moto Park
The Moto1 Motorcycles Honda Team has wrapped up its 2026 ProMX Championship campaign at Queensland Moto Park, with the Sunshine Coast-based squad closing out a season highlighted by consistent progression, championship success and promising performances across the MXW and MX3 classes.
Leading the way once again was Darci Whalley, who capped off her strongest ProMX season to date with a 6th Overall finish at the championship finale. The result secured 5th Overall in the 2026 MXW Championship, marking a significant step forward from her 2025 campaign and continuing her rise amongst Australia’s leading female motocross riders.
Whalley’s impressive national season came on the back of her third consecutive Sunshine State Motocross Championship, capping off another outstanding year in the Moto1 Motorcycles Honda colours.
Darci Whalley:
“I’m really happy with how the season has progressed. We’ve taken a big step forward from last year and to finish fifth in the ProMX Championship, alongside another Sunshine State title, gives us a great platform to build on. A huge thank you to the whole Moto1 Motorcycles Honda Team and everyone who has supported me throughout the year.”
In the highly competitive MX3 Championship, Corey Eisel continued to demonstrate his determination and development throughout the season. Posting 10-12 moto finishes at Queensland Moto Park, Eisel secured 10th Overall for the round, cementing 11th Overall in the MX3 Championship in his first full season in the class.
With a season-best finish of 7th Overall, the young Honda rider consistently showed he has the pace to compete towards the front of one of Australia’s deepest categories.
Corey Eisel:
“It’s been a massive learning year moving into MX3 full-time. Every round I’ve gained more confidence and experience, I’m proud of the progress we’ve made as a team.”
Teammate Nate Andrewartha endured a difficult final round despite showing encouraging speed early in the weekend. After qualifying 9th in his MX3 group, Andrewartha was struck down by illness before being caught up in a first-lap incident during the opening moto. The crash forced the young Queenslander to withdraw from the event for medical assessment after injuring his shoulder.
While the result wasn’t representative of his speed, the team is hopeful Andrewartha will recover in time to contest the upcoming Australian Junior Motocross Championship.
Moto1 Motorcycles Honda Team Manager Shane Fretwell reflected positively on the season as a whole.
Shane Fretwell:
“It’s been a really rewarding year for our Honda program. Darci has taken another big step forward nationally while adding another Sunshine State Championship to her resume, Corey has continued to improve every round in what is an incredibly competitive MX3 class, and although Nate’s season finished on a disappointing note, he’s shown plenty of potential throughout the year after coming back from injury. I’d like to thank all of our riders, families, sponsors and supporters for everything they’ve contributed throughout the 2026 season.”
With the ProMX Championship now complete, the Moto1 Motorcycles Honda Team shifts its attention to the Australian Junior Motocross Championship, where the team will look to finish the year on another high.
